Bermanian Horse Cart Token
Who was Gretta? One of the most respected and beloved horses in Bermania, that's who. Schmuel & Gretta operated a horsecart for hire in the 1930s & 1940s. It was Gretta & Schmuel who would meet Howard Hughes when he'd arrive on the Danube, and bring him to meetings at Castle Bermansk.
Schmuel was a burly man with a large black beard. He would give a deep laugh from the seat of his horse cart and say, "Schmuel's Horse cart at your service. Need a hand up?" Gretta was a gentle chestnut mare.
These tokens were good for one fare "anywhere in the kingdom." Schmuel's grandson, found a tightly sealed keg of them, shiny as the day they were made.
Almost the size of a US half dollar.

Baronetcy
A dukedom or a countship cannot be bought in Bermania, nor any where else for that matter. But every government needs to raise revenue and Bermanian Peasants don't much care to be taxed. King James I of England and Scotland had a very nice answer to this dilema. In 1611 he invented the title Baronet. Ranking lower than a baron but higher than a knight, it was an hereditary title created specifically for sale.

In keeping with this tradition, the title of Baronet is the only Bermanian title which can be purchased. Conversely, it is a title which can be granted in no other way and cannot be earned by service or in battle. Recipients receive:

  1. Royal Proclaimation granting title of Baronet.
  2. Grant of Arms in full color.
  3. Certificate of Naturalization as an honorary Bermanian subject.

(Sorry, passports are not available to honorary Bermanians.)
Application fee is $18 and is not refundable. Applications are subject to review by His Majesty and members of the Privy Council. Successful candidates will be informed by certified mail. Documents will be prepared upon receipt of the actual title fee of $1,800. Because a baronetcy requires extensive research and preparation by the Royal Cancellory and the College of Heralds, no baronet can be created sooner than 60 days from the time his application has been approved.
Eleven percent of the gross proceeds (i.e. $198) on sales of baronetcies will be donated to recognized charities of the King's choice. It must be clearly understood that the Kingdom of Bermania itself however is not a charity.
